Artists Statement.
“I am primarily a self-taught artist. While taking several workshops
and classes to learn technique, I choose to paint surreal
landscapes with oils and have
recently become infatuated with the art of
encaustic.”
My landscapes are met to make the viewer think. I love for the piece
to signify a special meaning to every person who enjoys it. Our
moods change and so should the mood of the painting. I don’t give my
paintings a name. I want the viewer to create their own name and
story behind the piece they own. As their lives and circumstances
change, so can the meaning of my art.
My encaustics also have depth in meaning. I choose to work in
organic colors and designs. Most of the pieces are abstract in
nature, and can take on a different meaning and feel for each
viewer, much like the landscape oils.
I currently show at 3 galleries, and exhibit at special venues
throughout the Southeast. I own a space within
Two Doors Art, A studio
and Gallery in Roswell Georgia. I paint my oils at this location and
you can find me working there at various times during the week. I
have been commissioned most recently by Carol Rubenstein Associates,
in Philadelphia, Pa. Carol is now representing my work to her
esteemed clientele.
I currently live in Roswell, Georgia with my husband. We have been
blessed with 5 children and 2 grandbabies. I also have a studio on
the lower level of our home, where I work on mixed medium and my
encaustics.
While maintaining my landscapes inventory, my plans are to continue
growing within the encaustics medium. I love the diversity of the
materials, the unpredictable reactions that the materials can
produce. It is always a challenge and surprise to create within the
encaustic methods.
I truly hope that you will enjoy browsing my work. The Gift of Art
has been such a blessing to me. I want every viewer to feel deeply
moved when they look at my pieces.
Thank You for visiting my site.
